Peptides are encapsulated at nano-scale (200–400 nm) in a biodegradable protein-based microcapsule, then dried and built into a 200–600 μm consumer pellet using spouted-bed granulation, adding the outer enteric and reconstitution-stability layers.

The problem
The problem with oral peptides.
Most peptides are destroyed before they’re absorbed. Stomach acid and digestive enzymes break the chains apart, leaving little to nothing intact by the time anything reaches the small intestine, where peptides are actually absorbed.
Until now, the only reliable workaround has been injection. PepBeads™ is the two-stage delivery system we’ve designed to change that, a pH-responsive enteric coating that’s built to keep the peptide intact through the stomach and release it where it can be absorbed.
